“Can’t you see that
I love you, faults and all?
I love your faults, they make you more like you
I love you, faults and all
I love you more than I think you think I do.”
(General Public, “Faults and All.” Here’s a link to the song on youtube. Be warned, it is oh, so 80’s synth pop, but it is upbeat and helps me turn around my thoughts when I am tempted to tell myself I am a total f’ up)
TGIF!
I wonder if the upcoming NYC ban on large sugary drinks will ever be expanded to affect Dallas BBQ’s ability to sell these beauties:
(pulled this image from google.com; i do not own it)
Although the food there is, in my opinion, terrible, while we were in law school, my best pal and I celebrated many an occasion with a drink at this fine establishment after work.
Why? HUGE drinks that are cheap!
But, alas, definitely not calorie-free.
lol.
Edit: I’m telling you, this photo does not do justice to the size of the drinks. Oh, and I’m getting brain freeze just looking at it.
For @leaheatsandmoves!
This is my favorite way to cook stripers :)
From Cooking Light magazine (click here for link to recipe on cookinglight.com)
“Fresh herbs give mild-tasting bass vibrant flavor.

So I’m not an Adam Levine groupie but I do think he is good-looking.
There’s a really cool guy on the 37th floor of my office building. His firm does similar work to mine so we compare war stories. He’s always pleasant and very easy on the eyes.
Today, I saw an article on msn.com about Adam Levine and it hit me— My pal reminds me of him, only GuyOn37 is way hotter because he acts like he doesn’t KNOW he is that good looking.
My brother used to have a way of describing people like this: “Confident, but not CONVINCED.”
I must be feeling better :)
ME!
Luckily, my fellow passengers were kind enough to help me up and someone gave up his seat for me.
I left the office at a reasonable hour but when it turned out the trains were all goofed up b/c of the ubitiquitous “unauthorized person on the tracks” I still decided to squeeze onto the next train.
I wanted to get home, get on the laptop and do more work.
Normally, when the trains are messed up, BFF and I will try to meet up and grab dinner or see a movie until the commotion has died down at Penn Station.
I think I am working too hard.
On the plus side, even though I’ve been working a ton of extra hours, during the down time I managed to have a really good holiday weekend and got in my running. Thanks, @davidsgoals for checking in on me— Most appreciated!
So excited— Even though I am stuck working from home, I can hear the jets flying over the house.
This weekend is the air show at Jones Beach— Blue Angels and Canadian Snow Birds this year!
Here’s a pic from the website:

They must do practice flights on Thursday and Friday b/c if I am home on those days I get to see (or this year, hear :/) them from my backyard.
Weather permitting, we’ll be going fishing on Sunday and will be able to see the show from the water (Hope to catch a monster striper!).
Okay, back to work I go…
I pulled into Nazareth,
Was feeling ‘bout half past dead…
Man, am I ever glad to be heading home now!
Can’t wait to catch up on my dash. And running, sweet running, will happen tomorrow morning.
F U, office. I may have to work from home this weekend but I don’t have to go in to that den of iniquity (and inequity) again til Tuesday.
Hey! Work’s been nutzo so I’ve been trying my best to keep up w/ reading but not posting. Anyway, here are a few pics from the Brooklyn Half.
Nonny and Daisy helped me get ready at 3am that morning:

Waiting in the corral with Maureen!

We did it (pic from Maureen)!

Texting w/ BFF— I earned a sushi dinner! Woot Woot!

There’s that Breakfast of Champions (pic from Maureen)!

Finally, I came home to this nice surprise— A postcard! Thank you, LRG!

Home!
I didn’t beat 2:30 (yet!).
But I did PR! 2:35:30. Not even one miscroscopic bit of disappointed. I gave it my all and slow and steady improvement still feels
FABULOUS!!!!!
I had a blast running and hanging out w/ Maureen— We kept each other going when the going got tough (Cue Billy Ocean song). PR’s all-around :)
Got to see Drew and to meet both Maureen’s boyfriend and Drew’s girlfriend!
This was my first New York Road Runners event and I really had a good time. Would do this one again for sure.
I’ll post any pics I can dig up later. For now:
